What You Will Need Before You Start
Gather these three things before sitting down at your computer or grabbing your phone:
- Your PAN Card (or just the number)
- Your Aadhaar Card (or just the number)
- The mobile phone linked to your Aadhaar (you will need this to receive a One-Time Password or OTP)
- Click on Continue to Pay Through e-Pay Tax.
- Enter your PAN again to confirm, along with your mobile number to receive an OTP.
- Once verified, select the Income Tax tile and choose the Assessment Year (usually the current one) and the type of payment as Other Receipts (500).
- Complete the ₹1,000 payment using your preferred bank or payment method.
- Enter your PAN and Aadhaar numbers again.
- Enter the name exactly as it appears on your Aadhaar card.
